The playoff bracket for the 2023 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Split has been revealed. Hanwha Life Esports chooses DRX to face off on Aug. 8.
KT Rolster swept Liv Sandbox 2-0 in the final match of the 2023 LCK Summer Regular Season at Roll Park in Jongno, Seoul on Saturday afternoon.
With a 17-1 record, KT clinched the top spot in the regular season for the first time in five years, while Genji Esports finished second with a 16-2 record. Both teams advance directly to Round 2. Third place went to Hanwha Life Esports (12-6), followed by DPLUS Kia (11-5) in fourth. In fifth place is T1 (9 wins, 9 losses), and rounding out the playoffs is sixth-place DRX (6 wins, 12 losses).
In the first round of the playoffs, which pits the third- through sixth-place teams, third-place Hanwha Life has selected DRX as its opponent for the first round of the playoffs. The two teams will face off on May 8 at 5pm. Naturally, this pits them against T1. The two teams will face off against T1 on the 9th.
Hanwha Life won both of their regular season games against DRX. DePlus Gia and T1 split the victories.
The second round of the playoffs will be a double-elimination format. If a team is eliminated in the second round, they still have a chance to climb back up. In the 토토사이트 second round of the playoffs, KT will pick one of the winners from the first round to play on the 10th, and the remaining teams will play on the 11th.
The winners of the second round will play for a spot in the final on the 12th. The winner advances directly to the final. The losers of Round 2 will also play for a spot in the final on the 13th. The loser of the match on the 13th will pack their bags.
The final round will then move to a new venue on the 19th, and the much-anticipated final will take place on the 20th. Both the semifinals and the final will be held at the Daejeon Convention Center's Exhibition Hall 2. The eventual winner will receive the No. 1 seed for the 2023 LoL World Championship.
